Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 200 grams prawns
- 1 egg white
- 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- ½ red chilli (finely chopped)
- 2cm piece of ginger (finely chopped)
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 2 sourdough bagels/wholemeal bagels
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Spicy yogurt dip
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 2-3 tsp harissa seasoning
- 1 tsp honey
Garnishings
- Fresh chilli
- Fresh coriander
- Sweet chilli sauce
- Fresh avocado
Instructions
- Pre heat the air fryer to temp 200℃
- Add the prawns, egg white, garlic cloves, ginger, chilli, soy sauce, honey, salt and pepper to a food processor. Blitz for 30 seconds.
- Spoon the prawn mixture evenly over the bagels until fully coated.
- Next, sprinkle over the sesame seeds before placing in the air fryer for 8 minutes. I cooked mine in two lots (one bagel at a time)
- While the bagel is cooking, prepare a really simple yogurt dip by adding the yogurt, harissa seasoning, and honey to a small bowl. Stir well until combined.
- I like to serve my spicy prawn toast bagels with the yogurt dip, sweet chilli sauce, fresh coriander, fresh red chilli and sliced avocado. The combination is epic 🤩
Notes
The nutritional information provided below is for 2 slices of spicy prawn toasted bagels without all the added extras (dipping sauce, avocado and sweet chilli sauce)
Things to try:
If you fancy adding a little zing to the prawns toast, try adding the juice of a lemon/lime.
You could add spring onion to the prawn mixture or garnish with freshly sliced spring onion.
If you don’t like your food too spicy, opt out the chilli and add some sweet paprika instead.
