Ingredients
 

  • 550 g root ginger
  • 125 g root turmeric
  • 500 ml water
  • 3 lemons juice only
  • 2 large oranges juice only
  • 30 g honey
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Wash and chop the ginger and turmeric. Add to a blender along with 500ml of water. Blitz for around 1 minute.
  • Place a sieve over a large bowl and empty the contents from the blender into the sieve. Press down gently with a spoon until all the juice has passed through the sieve. Remove the sieve from above the large bowl.
  • Squeeze the juice of 3 lemon and 2 oranges into the juice followed by the apple cider vinegar, honey and black pepper. Give it a good whisk until combined.
  • Next, transfer the juice into a jug before pouring it into some airtight glass bottles.
  • These will store well in the fridge for up to 7 days.

Top tip:
 
  • With the leftover pulp in the sieve, roll into balls and freeze. You can then use this to make ginger and turmeric tea if you have a tea infuser.
  • Add the frozen ball to a tea infuser along with some boiling water and lemon. Allow to infuse for 5-10 minutes before pouring into a mug. Add a drizzle of honey, stir well and enjoy.
